Default Chugging in Second Gear at 30-35mph

Hello,

Just got myself a 2015 Yamaha Stryker and I have added the V&H Twin full exhaust, Cobra PowerFlo air intake and Cobra fi2000 Powerpro black - Autotunner.

I am sure this has been covered before but for some reason I have not been able to find a solid answer to it. Some people say to disconnect the O2, some say to do an ECU Flash, Some to adjust manually the tuner. Needless to say i dont have a solid answer and would like to know if some of you have experienced the same thing i am going through and what did you guys do to fix it!?

The issue: Right after i installed the air filter, exhaust and tuner the motorcycle started to chugging at 35 mph in second gear, there s also a lot of backfiring when decel (which some people thinks its normal to have some small backfiring).the backfiring doesnt bother me but its chugging at second gear at 35 mph that really is starting to bother me.

The chugging happens to all stock Strykers and is mostly eliminated with Ivan's ECU flash. The backfiring is probably related to your PowrPro. If everything's set up correctly you should not have any backfiring at all.

I'm running V&H Twin Slashed Staggareds, Power Commander Fuel Controller, custom high flow intake and Ivan's ECU flash. My bike does not backfire at all.

mm how odd because i never felt such chugging when it was all stock. Shouldn't the Cobra fuel controller fix this chug? Did you also experience this chug?

You actually need 2 things.

1. Ivan's Flash to take care of the backfire and smoothen things up a bit.
2. 30T Pulley to get rid of the 2nd gear chugging.

Hows getting a 30T pulley going to help with the chug?

As I said the Flash would help to eliminate most of the chugging (30 and above mph) the 30T would help out in the low 5 to 25 mph. The 30T is the go to mod we use to have before the flash. After the flash most never even bother to go with the 30T since Ivan's magic practically eliminate the need for it, but most old-timers here still got the 30T with the flash and if you actually have it you would know why.

As I said the 30T mod was the mod before the flash to smoothen things out now the flash is here most just go with that. But for the ultimate in smoothness and acceleration out the gate, I would recommend both.
