Default 240 Tire differences

Since it's time to put new rubber on, I thought I would do some measurements. I found some interesting stuff between Michelin c2 and Shinko advance 005 granted the C2 has 6300 miles and wore the left side off I did remove the air from the mounted one.

The width of the 005 is 3/4" wider than a C2, probably why those that run it found the rubbing much more prevalent. The height of a 005 is one inch taller than a C2 also. Just thought I'd share this info.

Shinko 005-

Michelin C2

comparison

If any one has more info for 240 's share with all!

My new Avon Cobra AV72 arrived today so I took measurements. Width is 9.25", OD is roughly 25.25"

Just mounted the Michelin C2 on my bike. I am noticing a pretty big difference in height. Boy are they grippy though! I love the look and will get used to the feel. But the one thing I can't get used to is the windscreen (rifle 17") is too short now. Maybe it's just everything else being different that makes me think that.

Does anyone part of the 240 club have a lowering kit installed? Not sure if that will bring the rear end down enough to where the windscreen will be more functional for my height.

This might be a dumb question....

Why is it 210 or 240, but nothing in between?

Are only those two sizes available for our bikes?

210, 240, 250, 260, 280, 300, are the only sizes I have seen for 18" rims.

Just a quick update on the Shinko advanced 005 now that it has 500 miles, so far so good, seems to grip better than the michelin c2 I had for cornering and also the ride-on stuff has stopped all of my vibrating in the front end.
