Hi, new to the Yamaha Stryker by only a week. Traded in my 2002 Shadow Spirit because I lost interest in it. Figured it was time to move on. Here's some pictures of what I did to that http://www.shadowriders.net/forums/v...hp?do=view&g=4
Not sure on what direction I'll take with the Stryker. I will tend to keep it something I can ride if I get caught in the rain. Living on Canada's wet coast, we tend to see a bit during the seasonal changes here. I do think that spiders will play a roll in it........I HATE SPIDERS! Got to face those fears and why not in something you enjoy.
Look forward to being a part of this forum for the knowledge and expertise here. I've been reading for about a month before I got the new bike. Still have lots of questions to answer.
Biggest one right now is who to get the O2 sensor mod from. I know I could make one up, just looking for the quick fix on a plug and play for now. I've got that dreaded surging at the speeds I seem to have to travel at on a day to day basis to and from work

Welcome from Alberta. I don't know about the O2 mod, went straight to the knew exhaust (couldn't stand the sound of the stock exhaust) and unplugged the O2. One thing to keep in mind is not to shift to early with this bike, it is a completely different breed of bike than the Shadow that you are use too.

Thanks,
that's part of my problem. I'm used to the Spirit and what gear I used for it in corners, and slower speeds etc. Plus I could hear that bike, I can't hear this one with the stock pipes. That will be one of my first list of changes.
I will probably have to try unplugging the o2 sensor, the surging is annoying when my riding speed through town is the speed it seems the worst at. I had my other bike jetted perfectly with no issues at all.

Welcome from Ontario,

https://www.yamahastarstryker.com/27-...ensor-mod.html

After installing the Power Commander 5 I still had a little 35-40mph chugging so I installed this mod (running it inline with the PC5)and all is well. 100% fixed the problem, bike runs like a dream

Next: the 30 tooth pulley mod

Thanks for the link. He's not making anymore and doesn't have any left or I'd have grabbed one from him. Not sure if anyone else is making them now or not. I'm looking around to see if I can find someone that is still making the plug and play models.

Thanks, I enjoyed working on it and it was fun to ride. Lacked a little horsepower but was great on the twisties.

I have one that I might sell but first I'm going to reinstall it and ride it a bit.
Right now I have it pulled and the bike runs really good with just a hint of hesitation. If it improves that then I'll be keeping it...
If it doesn't make any difference then I'd sell it.
Same kit.

Welcome from Toronto!
My sister is in Poco. Great roads around the mountains.

Thanks, let me know if you decide to get rid of it. I'm definitely interested.
