Good afternoon all. I am new to the forum. Picked up a 2013 back in Feb and love it! Great bike. Would like to add a backrest, any suggestions on the tall compared to the short and a good place to get a fairly inexpensive one?

Welcome from Pittsburgh, PA. I bought my short OEM quick release from the stealer...so i am sure i overpaid. That said, my wife was used to the taller backrest on my previous bike...and finds the short a little...well...short. As I have the quick release, I was thinking of picking up the tall for longer rides so she can be a little more comfortable. As others have mentioned in the forum, i would recommend getting the standard backrest not quick release in whatever size you choose. The brackets that stay on the bike are not attractive without the backrest, and honestly I for one just leave it on, and actually like the look of the bike with it. My 2 cents...

Welcome from Orlando, FL. I would recommend the tall personally as a lot of aftermarket seats will not work with the short one due to a thicker passenger seat. I have the OEM one but it's way over priced.

Thanks for the info. How far off the seat is the short? I was thinking of a tall but saw some pictures and did not like the look.

Welcome from Chula Vista, CA. Just as everyone said Tall is the way to go, sometimes you can fin find someone on this site selling one by I got mine from the dealer as well but they matched all the prices I found on EBay and some were lower like the back ret pad but it was on back-order for so long I ended getting it through Amazon. as for the looks, once it's on I think you'll be satisfied with it. and it will allow you to swap seats if that's want you want to do later. Remember the back rest is not for you, but for the comfort of your significant other. when they comfortable, you are comfortable they might not wiggle as much while your trying to navigate. again welcome to the forum
