Default BATWING which configuration is better?

I have a 2012 stryker, i am looking to buy a batwing. I was wondering which config is better, 2x 6x9 or 2x 6.5? I want bass which i know 6x9 is good for but i also know it gets drowned out at highway speeds. Can you guys help me decide and if you have any experience with higher end speakers that would help as well. I am a picky person when it comes to speakers i NEED clarity and good mids. thank you for your help

I went with a 6x9 fairing with JBL Club speakers and one of the older Dual DA6002D 2 channel amplifiers. The setup sounds great to me. I can hear it fine at highway and interstate speeds. I had a VTX with a 6.5 setup, same amp but Polk Audio MM speakers and it worked very well also. I guess you can base the decision off of price since both will perform well with bass out of the equation.
