Hey guys, I have been batting the idea of moving my speedo into my cowl since about the day I got her. Well I have finally done it. I have built a bracket the holds my speedo and boss speakers in my cowl and it came out better then I could have hoped. Check it out and tell me what you guys think

Looks awesome, how hard was it to relocate the ignition to the side of the engine? Did you have to do any wire work for the move of either ignition or speedo?

So I got in touch with OP and purchased his mount for my bike as well. I also have the green bullet cowl. I needed to relocate the speedo because I just put new bars on that did not have a place to mount it. OP's solution is spot on! He gave me the option of just the mount for the speedometer or to include speaker mounting as well. Given that I don't plan on putting speakers on, I went with just the gauge mount. The fit and finish is awesome, and for what I paid for it I couldn't be happier! He kept me updated on the status quite frequently. Install was a breeze and it is **** near infinitely adjustable. HOWEVER, you do have to relocate the ignition switch for it to work (which is a bit of a bear... but that's another story). If you have any cowl on the bike with space for it and are considering it, DO IT!! You won't regret it!!

Like bullet_cowl said, no wiring involved. Speedometer harness has tons of slack in it and the ignition harness just has to be removed from the main harness bundle and re-wrapped/re-routed. Removing the factory security bolts on the ignition switch is a bit of a task but once that's done it's a breeze.

It adjusts through the full range of motion(there is a lot) so custom tailoring is easy. Install was simple(assuming the ignition is already relocated) it took about 20 minutes.

For anybody curious;

The speedo wire harness needs to be freed from the holders, the cover/trim will have to be removed and then the unit passed through the triple tree. Reinstall on the bracket, install cover/trim, lock down wiring and adjust the bracket to your liking and you're done.

I used a dremel with cutting wheel to remove the oem bracket+tab by cutting the weld until I could work it free. I used a flapper wheel to take the welds off then touched with some metallic gray paint I had laying around. I might go over it with chrome hobby paint and clear coat for the heck of it...for you guys with black bikes it's that much easier.

Quick questions,

1. Where can I buy this bracket? I'd like to buy one.
2. I noticed on everyone's bike pics their speedometers are in a black case. Mine is in a chrome plastic case. It's a 2015 Green Stryker with Cowell. Were these supposed to be black or did you guys paint them?

Thanks!
