I'm having the bracket fabed so I'll tell them to put an 18mm hole. My concern is that in 8sec-z's write up he said he had to drill the hole a bit bigger to get it into the position he wanted. I guess I'd rather it be too small than too big as I could always enlarge the hole that the fab shop cuts. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the compliments!
I had to enlarge the hole because the end cap on the swing arm was hitting the plate bracket when I put it on. It looked too vertical and I wanted it a little more laid back so I "egg shaped" the hole a bit so I could tip the top back a bit more. If that end cap wasn't there, I wouldn't have had any problems. I think the axle was a 3/4" or 19mm iirc. You shouldn't make the axle hole too big because you'll be able to see it if the axle bolt head doesn't cover it up when it's in position.
Good luck and post up pics.

Finally got the bracket on. Next step will be knocking off all that junk from the rear fender and installing LEDs. Going to attack that early next week.

What do you use to cut the pastic from the rear tail light area to make it clean?

A jigsaw?

I used tin snips and then filed the edge for a smooth finish.
The pics look good but it's not perfect. But neither am I...

Loved how this looked. Now I'm following your footsteps on this. Trimmed up the plastic and metal tonight and ordered the same mount and similar LED frame. Thanks for the write up.

StrykerBrock, this writeup helped me a lot too - one thing I would add, when you are doing the license plate mount, at the end of the swingarm, there is a bracket that has a nub that gets in the way of properly tilting the license plate. You can just flip the little bracket so the nub is on the other side. It doesn't cause any problems.

No problem. Here is a picture. You have to look closely, but you can see the nub or rib now on the other side from where it is from the factory position.
