Yes. Not to mention you save the part. I had mine off once, but I didn't have the washers on hand so I put it back until next time I change a tire..
That is true but I have no intention of putting it back on, and yes Schimbo black would look good. I just do not have the skill to take the tire off and put it back on...way above my skill level.

taking the rear wheel off is a pain in the arse....getting the caliper bracket
to slide in along with all the other hardware....Id rather cut it......and that is
what I did.....just more options out there.

Anybody know what size bolts those are? I'm gonna try and get some washers and do this over the weekend

All right has any one determined what this plate is for. I'm sure it serves a purpose and Yamaha did not just put it on to add more weight or for looks. Has anyone ever asked a Yamaha Tec. I know next time I'm at my dealer I'm goning to ask.

According to the manual, it's just a rear disc cover.

Front rotor warrior bolts, they are particular
