I put mine on today. All I used was a motorcycle lift, needle nose channel locks, 3/8th ratchet w/ 17mm socket, 17mm wrench, pb blaster, and w-d 40, and a heavy duty 5mm allen wrench. I borrowed the lift from my neighbor..

What i did was set the lift under the bike to get it parallel with the ground, loosened the bolts, removed them and the old links, placed the new links in their place and re-installed the bolts, hand tightened the bolts, lifted the bike with the lift (the bolts automatically slid into the 2.25 position--it was magical--), torqued the top bolt to 36 ft/lbs, torqued the bottom to 35 ft/lbs, lowered the bike back on the ground, checked torque again...took a 20 mile ride around Omaha, NE. All you have to do is follow the instructions given on this thread to a T. Be sure not to start doing anything until you read and understand all of the instructions first. Slow and steady wins the race! Have a beer for me..

The pics below show my before and after...excuse how dirty my bike is.

Not high jacking but I posted that I had put on a set of Baron's dog bones and had torqued the nuts to 35 ft lbs per the instructions. Someone posted that it was the wrong torque spec. That the manual called for a much higher torque.

Everybody drop it the max on stock tire. On the 240 you are better off with only 1". Your question is if it is ok to drop 1" with 240 and the answer is yes. You can drop it to where you feel comfortable. The most common question is if you can drop the max 2.25" with 240 with the concerns of the tire rubbing the inside of fender. You will eat up the fender, wires, and tire

Installed these tonight. I had the rear wheel removed, as I'm getting a 240 mounted tomorrow. Made it super easy. I had the rear on a swing arm stand, then used a regular floor jack with a block of wood directly in front of the shock mount. Raised the jack until the swing arm just came off the stand, and everything was nice and loose. Used the tips from the OP for getting the bolts out. I torqued mine to 43 ft LB's per the manual. We'll see how she sits tomorrow once the tire is back on. ImageUploadedByMotorcycle1459473216.803084.jpgImageUploadedByMotorcycle1459473229.140289.jpgImageUploadedByMotorcycle1459473240.823641.jpg
