Man, EXCELLENT tut on this install. This is my first bike, and very much my first DIY mechanical endeavor on one. I followed these pics to a T and my bike is now a beast! It's been over a week and 100 miles since the install and I haven't had a single issue.
Thanks for the detailed breakdown!!

Wanted to say thank you for this info- I got this done today with your help, all by myself, and I love the sound! (Got it done after my 12 hour shift at the hospital, and still didn't have many issues- this was my first exhaust change!)

You're welcome. You work in health care too? I'm also pulling 12 hr shifts as an RN working graveyard. What do you do?

Dude, Thanks so much for the write up. Put mine on Monday using your instructions instead of the ones that came in the box. This was a snap. From box to bike about 40 minutes. The only thing weird is the exhaust bracket bolts were standard instead of metric. These pipes turned out to be a louder than I expected. That is good. I love the sound.

If you feel like doing another instruction write up I will let you know the next time I head to IKEA.

This is probably the wrong place for this. But I searched for header nut size and this is a thread that popped up.

So I just got my bike back from the shop. The right foot peg had a lot of vibration and a lot more decel pop then usual. Since the exhaust wasbhot when I got to work I left it until after. Well 8 hours later and a cool exhaust. I found one of the header nuts missing.

I just want to know what size nut it is. So I can go pick up or order a new one. If anyone knows off hand. Google didn't work out for me.

I was going to call them in the morning. But I don't really want to drive it around anymore. The other bolt on the exhaust was loose as well. Don't want to lose another one.

That's just unacceptable considering you paid a shop for the install. I'd be contacting the manager about that one for sure.
