It wasn't my Stryker, but yesterday I washed and waxed Desiree's since she wouldn't have time to before bike night tonight.

I also removed her front reflectors. What are you guys doing with the brake hose once you remove the reflector bracket?

I attempted to remove her passenger pegs, but was only able to get one off since one of the bolts is pretty much stuck. Why in the **** did Yamaha put RED Loctite on these? This is a very common part to be swapped and they use RED Loctite. Anyone have a suggestion on how to get that last bolt out?

Hey Ares, Heat is the only thing that will break loctite loose- I know- you don't want to torch heat it on Bike.

Also after I took left front reflector bracket off- I hacksawed the part that hold reflector off bracket- filed smooth and repaited black, then put brake hose bracket back on.

I also cut the reflector part of the bracket off but used a dremel, a little bit of black paint on the edge and re-mounted the brake mount portion on the bike. No one can tell the difference. Sorry for the crappy pics. The camera on my phone sucks.

Thanks guys! I was planning to try something like that. I just didn't have time to really look into it last night. Right now she has it loose, but I don't think it will be an issue. There's really not that much play in the hose.

I rode my Stryker over to the Polaris/Victory dealer to check out their bikes today. Victory makes a nice bike also. I didn't go on a test ride but may do it in the future. You can never have enough bikes. Right? I like the looks of the Stryker and also the water-cooled engine better than the Victory but their black 8-Ball is really nice. Two weeks ago I rode to Hawassii GA to the, if you'll excuse the expresion, BMW Rally with a friend/BMW rider. Camped out on Lake Chatuge for 2 days. Pancake breakfast and steak dinner (cook your own). I think I was the only Yamaha there and there were about 600 paid attendees. Bought Stryker on Feb. 15 and now have about 1450 miles. Sorry to rub it in for all you Northern riders.

We looked at a Vegas 8-Ball when we bought Desiree's Stryker and at first I loved it and then I REALLY looked it over and a lot of the parts came off extremely cheap to me. The grips looked liked they were off a BMX bike and the handlebars and footpegs were just blah. A number of things just didn't work. It was like they made this killer looking bike and then fell short. Not to say it couldn't look sharp as **** if customed. Then I saw a guys Hammer that had some slight custom things done to it and it was gorgeous! I really like the look of Victory and if there was no Yamaha that's definitely what I'd get.

I live in michigan and have just over 1400 miles on it as of today, unfortunately we are expecting thunderstorms for the next 48 hours so probably will not be riding much.

I wish weather was the only thing that keeps me from riding. Unfortunately, some days my old bones and Arthur-itus (I think that's what it is) keep me at home. Then there is the traffic problem. I usually have to go though 69 stop lights to find an open road. That equates to 30-45 minutes of racing from stop light to stop light. No Fun ! The Stryker, however, is a joy to ride. I've learned how to slip the clutch in 2nd and 3rd gears to minimize the drivetrain lag and the engine loves to rev. It even purs sometimes. I've got a 17" windshield and strapped a coleman bag on the rear seat to hold my hat, gloves, earplugs and other small stuff. I even made a bungee holder out of two straps and leather that fits under the passanger seat to hold down my tent and sleeping bag for camping trips. Works good.
Only thing I'd like to add in the future is a tach. I don't particularily want to hit the rev limiter but do like to wind it out occasionly. My Stryker will probably be around when I'm pushing up daisies. HaHa

I feel the same about my Raider, I can't imagine any other bike I would own, may even turn it into a trike one day!
