Default Rear tire issues

Question for you guys. Had to replace my first rear tire last week because of a nail in it. The shop ordered the same factory tire. Bridgstone I think cause they are the only ones who make it but this tire feels way different, I am having trouble not locking it up when using the rear brake with moderate pressure and it seems to break free real easy when starting from a stop or I can feel it slipping when I am turning from a stop at an intersection I can feel it slip then grab. Any help with this would be great thanks in advance. Ps it's a 2015 Stryker

First, You should be using both front and back brakes to stop. Sound like air in the rear system if it's spongy. As far as slipping any new tire will be extra slippery when new until about 300 or so miles. Due to the oils in the rubber. There are many other option that bridgstone for stock size.

I think it'll be fine once warn in and possibly temps rise(depends where you live). How many miles did the original tire have? If it was thousands then it's probably just worn in vs. new.
They say it takes 250 miles to wear in but there are a lot of different factors that could change that and make it shorter or longer. Just go a little easier to start...

Had about 2000 miles on it. I got the bike new at the end of 2017 with 0 miles on it. I do use both brakes when I brake also. Maybe I was just too nervous since it was new to notice this on the original tire and I probably didn't drive it like I do now when it was that new.
