Default Twisted Sisters

Anyone done the Twisted Sisters route? I'm going to be making a trip down in a couple of weeks to run the route and I'm looking for any tips or gotchas that I should think about and prepare for (equipment to bring, LEOs et.,). If anyone wants to meet up to run it just let me know.

When are you going? If you are riding early, watch for deer for sure. I only got to ride the 337 leg a couple of years ago. You can see some you tube videos looking up twisted sisters texas.

I just went in May for the first time. We camped out at Garner State Park which is a beautiful park as the Frio River run a thru it. 335 was my favorite section and the east section of 337 (Leakey to Vanderpool). Good ride. Be safe.

It is always a fun ride and lots of bikes on the weekends. It's been a few years since I made the ride but anytime I'm in the area I will go through even if its in the car with the family. We ate at Mama Choles restaurant in Leakey last time and it was pretty good texmex. Garner State Park is a great place to go cool off in the Frio when it gets hot. The Frio is spring fed so even in the summer it is a little chilly when you first get in. Other than the occasional thunderstorm that can roll through in the evening and the deer there is not much to worry about. Hope you have a great trip.

Thanks guys. Looking forward to it. I'll add Mama Choles to the list.

On memorial day weekend I went form San Antonio to Bandera to Fredericksburg back to San Antonio, this was enough for me. It all looks the same after an hour.

Loved the route. It definitely didn't look the same to me after a while. It was challenging but I loved every second of it.
