Default stripped oil drain plug, what size is next bigger?

yes, I did it. unscrewed it opposite way. oil drain thread is toast
Need a DYI way to fix it. is something like this an option?:

I am just no sure what size I need. the bold as you know is 17mm

Unless you have a specialized lift etc, I'd probably look for a shop. If not perfectly straight/plumb it'll probably leak.

For me timesert is the way to go. This is a 1-time permanent solution period.
There are a number of other ways to address it but they are all sort of band-aids to me and some(like bigger plugs) if done wrong could leave you with few, if any, options afterwards.

If a make-shift repair fails at speed you could damage the engine and possible wipe out.
Tough pill to swallow but find a shop that knows how to do it properly and has done it multiple times. Picture proof even better!!
