Default Shopping for Custom Exhaust

Hello, recently new Stryker owner here. I'm shopping for an exhaust upgrade and had some questions regarding different brands and how loud they are. I test road another Stryker which had a custom Freedom pipe on it. It sounded good but the entire ride I was completely deafened by it the entire ride even with a full faced helmet. I turned that bike down immediately and found a newer one that is fully stock. Now I'm looking at the Cobra Swept pipes for mine, but it's hard to gauge how loud they are from YouTube videos and stuff. Can anyone vouch for their noise levels while riding? I can't decide if I want to get the Slip on 2 to 1 Cobra exhaust, or the full two pipe swept upgrade (looks better). It seems difficult to shop for pipes when you can't test them out in person. I've also considered just drilling 1/2" holes in my stock pipe to see if that works, but I don't really like the look of the stock pipe. maybe as a backup option.

Thanks for any tips!

Forums like this orFacebook. Hook up with nearby stryker owners and check there's out. You've already eliminated one.

I've got the swept pipes on my 2011. Originally the stock baffles had been taken out by a previous owner and they were LOUD. I ordered stock baffles from Cobra and installed them, and much prefer the noise level and power increase after they were put back in. I typically ride with ear plugs with these pipes, though technically I can go without, but they sound really nice; though do note if you get pipes you will want to look into a tuner (I have the Cobra Fi2000). Unfortunately I have no experience with how the bike sounds with any other pipes. I really like the sound they give and much prefer the look of them over the stock pipes.

Any aftermarket exhaust that you put on will be too loud for you if you didn't like the freedoms. Those have a deeper soud but not as loud as most. Even the cobra slip on is loud. I prefer very loud. I ride with straight pipes. The curburners

I ride with the Cobra slip on with Smartpartz Hard Kore Quiet baffels. I still generally wear ear plugs, but I can ride without and not feel deafened.

i went and installed the Cobra Swept pipes. They are about as loud as I wanted to go, and not nearly as obnoxious as the freedom pipe I tested previously. Thanks for all the input everyone!
