After a ton of research I picked up a WR250R for logging road/winter riding. In the spring, I'll flip the plate back on to the Stryker.

Man, this little thing is fun to ride! Plus, it's a Yamaha. So... it's awesome.

Love it!

I've often thought about getting a "winter bike" and going the same route. But I've put that off because I'm thinking my next bike will be an adventure touring model. That's the only thing keeping me from following in your footsteps right now
I too have thought about this or an adventure bike but sadly, the idea of waking up the next day with more aches and pains than I know what to do with keeps me on the street.

The_Joker Cleaned up my 2011 Raven last night with my buddy Jack
Took it in for some new tires today, went with Metzeler CRUISETEC 240 in the rear and the matching front. I had a Metzeler Marathon previously in the back, it was a good tire, could have lasted longer.

Took a ride after getting the tires put on, up and around the neighboring lake(s), felt smooth. Liked the front tire and the fit with the low and mean fender, much more space compared to the Bridgstone's.

Sucks about the discontinuation...

muskie Gave her a bath and buttoned her up for the winter. 4 months till riding season starts again.

I think she is going to get a new battery in the spring. The bike is a 2012 and it is the original one. Sometimes it struggles to crank.

I also think I will flush the brake fluid in the spring since it is original and she rolled over 42,000 km this year.

I was in Anacortes on the 22nd for the Oyster Run. Not a great weekend with the rain Sunday and Monday.
You should try the HWY. 101 loop one year. But take your time and try to spend overnight at Ocean Shores. Well worth the trip. I usually do that coming in from Port Angeles out of Victoria and do the loop. You can do it in a day, but it's nice to take a leisurely ride and enjoy the sites. There's only a small stretch you are on the freeway, the rest of it is pretty nice to ride and beautiful places to stop along the way

Went to DC with my son this past summer. It was a beautiful ride, you will love it.
Safe journeys.
