So I like the look of the Cooper Stryker's cooper ring around the rims. So I thought about different ideas on how to do this. And duplicated this look on my Raven I thought of using pin striping as some have discussed and to taking them to a pin striper to have them run a stripe around the rim. Well here is what I came up with and it only costs $0.99, Silver Sharpe marker!
Here is how I did it. It is very simple to do if you have a Motorcycle/ATV jack.
1. Jack the bike up where the wheels spin freely. This could probably done with the board jack or with a regular car floor jack with some help from a buddy to help balance the bike.
2. Get you a silver Sharpe marker. Find yourself an inconspicuous spot to make a test mark to see if this is going to be the look you want. Have a rag and a can of "OFF" bug repellant to clean off any test marks or mistakes.
3. Front rim: Find the thin grove on the rim just inside the out portion of the rim. Use the front fork tube as a brace for your arm and hand. This will help you keep yourself steady. Point the pointed end of the marker in the middle of grove then lay the beveled edge down to the inside of the grove. Slowly start turning the wheel to start running your perfect silver (or your prefered color) rim trim around your rim.
4. Rear rim: For the rear rim, the steps are the same as the front, with the exception of using the exhaust pipes for the right side and the swing arm on the left side to be used as a brace. Spin the rear rim and you have matching front and rear wheel trim.
Note: You may have to spin the wheels more than once while holding the marker to cover up, make darker, or hit any spots that you missed. Durablity of this is unknown. If you dont like how you have done, "OFF" bug repellent and a rag will take it off.
