So I now have 5k miles on my bike and when I looked at my back tire yesterday it looks about shot. I would really like to replace it with a 240 Tire. My problem is I am height challenged. I currently have the PCS Lowering Links set to 1 inch. That setting fits me like a glove and I want to keep the bike at this setting or height. Once I add the 240 tire, I believe it will raise the rear of the bike about .5 inches, so I will need to get that back. Lowering the PCS links to 2.25 will get that back and then some but doesnt seem like it is a viable solution unless I mod the tailight and move the license plate to the side of the bike. I am not planning to do either of these mods. My other choice would be to purchase the LM Lowering spring which would drop the bike 1.5 inches which is exactly what i need but really do not want to use the LM Lowering spring for other reasons. Does anyone make a lowering link that drops our bike 1.5 inches?

Does anyone with the know how care to make me a custom set that will give me a 1.5 inch drop? Any takers? I would pay you for your time and effort. I would do this myself but I don't have the tools or know how. I sent PCS a message asking if they were planning to make a set but have not heard back from them yet. I find it hard to believe that there is no links that do 1.5 inches for our bikes since that would solve the lowering with 240 tire issue we seem to have.

I thought I read somewhere that PCS came out with a 3 setting link, 3/4", 1.5 and 2.25?

Found the PCS kit with 3 settings, 3/4" 1.5 and 2.25 but it's for the 950. :(
Thanks for looking Toby. What do you think of these 1300 links
What I don't like about them is you can not switch settings with out removing bolt. Not that it would be much more difficult than the kine that you loosen them and sip it to the next setting.

Bozzly i guess there's only one option that'll work for you....AIR RIDE ;)
LOL... That would be a nice option, but I dont have the patience for that much work. I am thinking these 1.5" lowering links for the Vstar1300 will work perfectly. I am going to ride over there and pick some up either this weekend or next and see how they work. I am thinking these links should do the trick with the 240 Tire. I have no desire to rework the tail light to make the 240 fit and don't want to be worried that I am going to bottom my fender and slice up my tire or worse. Too many on here have bottomed with the 240 and PCS links at 2.25 so that is not an option for me.

Bozzy,

Please post back once you have installed and tried the 1.5". I like this option since I don't think I'd go down to 2" or more with other kits but the option of going 1 or 1.5 is great.

It didn't say it fit the Stryker but other bikes in the fitment guide are the same as the Baron model so I'd guess we'd be OK. Probably a spring project for me but let me know if you get yours done before then.

Well those links were from LA Choppers and they drop the 1100 to 1" or 1.5" but for the 1300, the drop with those same links are 1" & 2". So, it is back to the drawing board. I have to figure something out this winter since my stocker is gone after a little over 5k miles. Looks like I will need to find a custom shop that can make these 1.5" links that i am looking for.

I cant believe that no one makes a 1.5" link for our bike since there seems to be so many issues with the 240 and 2.25 drop unless you make modifications like a side mount plate and cutom dynamics rear tail light. I am thinking a 1.5" drop would be perfect to run a 240 and not have to modify the rear of the bike at all. I know I can go the L&M Spring route but trying to stay away from that. Maybe I am just living a pipe dream. We will see what happens over the winter.

Would it be possible to drill the original links to the drop you want?

New Arm 1
3D8-2217M-00-00 =$6.35
I have definately thought of that Joe and may be what I do. Extend the current 1" to meet the 1.5" I am looking for but the question will be how much further do I grind out of the 1" slots and ensuring that both links are perfectly matched. I may just buy another set of PCS links to play with.

If I'm reading Joe correct I think he is saying use the original OEM part and just drill out another anchor point etc. I also see where you are worried about them matching if you slot them. The design of the OEM links makes drilling another hole hard from what I can see under the bike.
My thought: If you had the dimension you needed(say from a friend's uninstalled Baron links[split the distance between the 1" and 2" slots] or someone having measurements) I'm thinking a metal shop should be able to whip those out for right around the $50 for the aftermarket ones but I could and have been wrong. Haven't researched this but from what I see this is far from rocket science:)
Interested in this as well so please post back w/ results.

Exactly what I was thinking BillyD66, Take my pcs links off and measure the 2.25 length and the 1" length and split the difference and then I will have my measurement. **** after that I can probably get the steel and make these myself. Probably what I will do over the winter.

I did talk to Broward Motorsports and they stated they can make me a set that is fully adjustable but they want $199. Think I will pass on that, for that cost I would just do the L&M Spring.

Thanks a million Joe, This is exactly what i need at the right time since I need to replace my stock tire this winter. Now I can go for that 240 and not worry that I have to modify the back end so I could lower it enough to be flat footed and still be high enough not to worry about changing my plate to a side mount or having to use the cutom dynamics rear light. I am very happy to see this adjustable link and at half the price I was quoted to have one made.
