I'm thinking of picking up one of these. I like the fact it has a housing.

not sure where to mount it though. I want it somewhat hidden, but still accessable via a 4ft cord to my iphone on the hadlebars.

Any thoughts?

I have one that plugs into the outlet for my optimate charger. I can hide it out of the way under the seat. It has a long wire and is waterproof.

I use a Battery Tender ring terminal harness hooked up to my battery . . . . . Tucked under the seat makes battery maintenance easy

This plugs into the harness and makes an easy connection for GPS, cell phone whatever.

This lays nicely in the tool tray with a Garmin GPS plug fed fwd and under the tank to a RAM mount. Neat, clean no splicing and the plugs take care of polarity.
The ring terminal harness and the Female Lighter Adapter was under $20 from Amazon.
