I seen an ad in the classifieds for someone asking $475 for the OEM exhaust. Is this the going cost for an OEM exhaust?

On the Raider forum, many almost give away the OEM exhaust ... just curious as we may be looking for the black exhaust if we can't find a 2011 Stryker.

The cost is going to stay high until more people change over to aftermarket. New they are over $700. Better off buying aftermarket!!!

Tell you what.. when I change mine over to the Twin Staggered.. I'll sell the OEM pipes for $300.00.... That should start lowering the price. Be right around 2 Jan 2012.
Thanks for the offer SFCMcCan but I was just wondering what the standard was for Strykers. As I mentioned, mosts can't give away the OEM exhaust for Raiders.

After one factors in the cost of shipping, it would put them into the aftermarket range.

I have seen them between $475 and $600 in the classified section on here. Except for Ebay ($375) I have never seen any outside of this forum.
Wow ... if the wife wants a different exhaust, I think we'll be going aftermarket.

Make some of these clowns an offer, There is no way anyone is giving them that much money for stock exhaust. If they want to move it they will sell for a good price otherwise it will be an awfully big paper weight to have lying around. I personally would not pay anyone more then about $150 for the complete stock exhaust shipped but then again I am not looking for one either... ;)

I can assure you... I am anything but a Clown...

But lets put this in perspective... If someone dropped their bike.. say ..screwed up the stock exhaust... but wanted to keep the bike stock (yes.. there are some people who like the stock form)... Now lets say that same person paid dealer prices... total that up and you are looking at $3421.00 and that is just the big stuff.. not the re-useable stuff like clamps and bolts... and just for reference see this website:

http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Yamaha/Motorcycle/2011/STRYKER - XVS13CAB/EXHAUST/parts.html

Now lets say just for fun... that this same person doesn't have as much money as you do, and just can't afford to purchase a stock muffler for several thousand dollars.... $300.00 sure does start to look good... not to you rich folk it don't... but to us down here in reality it sure does look good!

It could just be the difference in forums ... in the scenerio above, I've seen people step up and give the exhaust away for the cost of shipping because as Bozzy stated, for those that have changed it out, it's just a heavy paperweight.

In agreement with you but also there is a thing called supply and demand. You have more then a few here with stock exhaust laying around and one to three perspective buyers as most want the aftermarket sets. Doesn't seem like a sellers market. Most will just end up having them take up space in the corner of the garage or basement. Those that actually want to recover that used space in the Garage or Basement will understand that and bring that price way down. I am one of those, I have a chrome set with 4 half inch holes drilled in the baffles. I would let them go for a song but it is a waste of my time to even advertise them.

PS... When I said clowns earlier, It was not directed at anyone. I hope no one will take that personal.

Holey fricken moley,$3,421.00, that's a 3rd of what a new bike would cost. Hope no one ever wrecks their bike and needs a new front end and pipes and god forbid a new motor. I wonder what a new motor would cost?

Why do I gotta be a clown? I don't even like clowns!!!

;) ;) ;)

Seriously though, the stock exhaust new from Yama is frickin ridiculous. It's certainly not $700 or 800 bucks....it's more like several thousand like SFCMc said. I would sell my black OEM exhaust for $300 (I would like 400), but I'm not willing to give it away either. I had some jakeleg on here(name I won't mention) that scolded me up and down on a private message when I offered him mine at $400. He told me that was "ridiculous" and that "I knew" that I could get an aftermarket for $200 that looks "way better". I told him that whatever he was smoking I wanted some.

As time moves on the prices will come down. VTX folk can't hardly give away exhausts now. Even when the bike was new, folks had trouble selling for $200. and that included shipping. Put 4 different exhausts on my "X" before converting to a trike. Then only had 2 choices...........stock or Cobra slip-ons. Slip-ons are there now.
Get what you can now and hope for the best.
