2014 Stryker Calendar

Would you guys be interested in a Stryker calendar for 2014? I did a Raider calendar back in 2010 that went over pretty good.
We would use the same guide lines used for the Raider calendar:

No photoshop images.
All images submitted would need to be 300dpi or better.
The image should contain some type of unique background (old building, barn, mountains, etc.)
If you choose to subimt an image containing yourself - proper attire is required.
A minimum of 25 single entries required (double entries will not be allowed) If you choose to submit a new entry it should be received before judging begins.
A poll will be set up to determine the winners - pollers will be allowed up to 12 votes.
The image recieving the highest number of votes will appear on the cover, the next twelve will be in the calendar.
In the event of a tie a coin toss will determine the winner/s.
*Any images that have been photoshoped or contain inappropriate material wil be disqualified.

So there it is in a nut shell. If there is enough interest and the minimum entries can be met we can make this happen. Look forward to your responses and if they are positive...a date for submissions will be announced at a later date.

sounds great, guess i need to give the old girl a dambath now
This would be Awesome! I may not have the best looking bike on this forum, but I do know of quite a few scenic locations for pictures. IMO submissions should not be due until August at the earliest to make it fair for us northerners! ;)
Heck - make it September. Better chance for Maggie Valley images to make it into the voting!
Starting to get some feedback:

Submissions will take place Aug 1-31
Voting will take place through September.
Winners will be announced Oct 1st
If there are no issues with the winning images the calendars would be available by the first of Dec in time for Xmas.
I'm in. What do you mean by no photo shop though?

If you don't have a location to take a pic don't photo shop the bike onto a background or create a background.

Great idea for a calendar. Maybe strykers of the month for 2013 could be the bikes for the calendar. Then even some photoshop backgrounds would really make the bikes and calendar pop.

Photoshopping the background is against the rules.. I'm in though.. I will try and think of some good places to take the pics.. based on past pictures, I'm willing to bet Kraazy Mike gets the cover... Although I think the one with the most votes should get the cover, and the month of his choice. Once you hang a calendar, the cover isn't seen.

Not everyone that will be entering may have access to photo shop or know how to use it I don't. So in all fairness no photo shop.
The main pretense behind this is to give everyone a chance to show off their bikes and show how creative they can be by finding a unique location.
Can photo shop be used to edit the picture? Not add new background, but make it look better? Highlights.. shadows.. etc..? I don't really know how to use it, but just checking..

No...See this is where everyone has to get creative...maybe you've never actually tried taking the perfect picture (I'm not saying you)...a few years ago I took a road trip and shot up 9 rolls of 24 exposures thinking I had some really great shots out of over 200 only 2 were good.
Perhaps I should have said no photo shopped enhancements originally.

I see where you're getting at with stating no photoshopping, but if you're limiting even minute edits like tone and contrast then count me out. I was thinking about using this picture, but according to your guidelines I can't use it. It just has lighting, tone, and contrast edits. As a photographer I look for the perfect picture, but your rules lend to no artistic leeway.

Nor could I use this one. It was taken in my garage. I didn't photoshop magical dragons into it. I just changed contrast, highlights and darks but I can't use it according to these rules.

Like I said earlier how many have photo shop or know how to use it...just trying to keep a level playing field....if people don't feel they can take a raw image and submit it without enhancements....then perhaps I should reconsider taking on this project....nothing against you or anyone else - if you don't want to be involved that's your decision...will I bend on the rules? No

What a whinny ass.
kraaazymike perhaps we could come to a comprimise, I have a question.

Would you be willing to accept all submissions for the calendar and do the same enhancements to them that you did on the pics you posted?

This means you would be involved in the process, if you are willing and able then we can talk.

The playing field would still be level.
