How does a 240 rear tire handle on the Stryker. I am thinking about adding the Metzler 880 240 rear tire on mine. I was wondering if I will notice anything different from the stock size.... Any advice would be greatly appreciated. ;D

240 all the way it its a HUGE difference over stock. With a 240 the speedo will read correctly and to me it feels the bike was designed for the 240 tire. I have a dunlop elite 3 240 the bike will stand about half a inch taller in the rear.

Can anyone tell me the other measurements on their tires besides just the number 240 or 250? What about the R number or the VR number? I assume the number 18 is fixed. Also if you can tell me the specific tire model like the dunlap _______. I'm new at this stuff and need extra help.

Newly designed, lightweight 5-spoke cast aluminium wheels are fitted tubeless tires. These stylish wheels are both easy to clean and maintenance-free. The front wheel is a MT3.50 x 21 inch while the rear is a wide MT7.50x18. The narrow front tire (120/70 x 21) and wide rear tire (240/40R18) enhance the chopper styling image.

This was from yamahas web site. Our factory wheel is a 7.5". I'm only going an inch wider. Thats only a half inch on each side.

The rim will fit, the tire will fit the rim, just not the tire on the rim in the frame. I posted some pics of the 250 in the bike with no rear fender and spring you can see how close for yourself. It's in a topic called Rear tire size i believe, or the gallery?

It sounds like the 240 might be the better choice of the 2. There is a post where the sidewall is pinched with the 250 causing the contact patch not to be even. Now I talked to a chopper shop and he really likes the metzler because it don't "grow". He is able to put the rear fender closer the the tire with them compared to the Avon. With our back fender being attached to the frame it's not as big of a concern unless you go with a big drop, ride 2 up with a drop or if you are a big boy with a drop.

searching is find and dandy, but in my opinion... forms are for posting and getting personal/specific responses for each individual concerns. Much faster and much more accurate, thx to all who reply.....

Went with the Avon 240. It changes the characteristics of the bike for sure. Raises you up a little . I can't imagine going to the 250 unless you are going to lower the suspension. 240 fits great and rides really nice versus the stock 210. I am happy with the change.
