We have installed a 240 Dunlop tire on the stock rim to show you the comparison to the stock wheel and tire setup. You'll see in the image that the 240 tire is bigger all around, which is going to improve the handling of your Star Stryker. The larger 240 tire is really 222mm on the stock rim which doesn't seem much but this would be the largest width you can fit on the bike with out cutting the belt guards. The larger overall diameter will improve and smooth out the bumps in the road, also if you decide to lower your Star Stryker with our Lowering kit the combination works excellent together. YOU CAN NOT LOWER YOUR BIKE WITH AFTERMARKET LONGER DOG BONES WHEN USING A 240 TIRE. THE LARGER TIRE WILL HIT THE FENDER FRAME WORK DURING HIGH SPEED BOTTOMING OUT.
If you have any questions we would be glad to help you answer them through this thread.

Yes, it will change it. You will notice a significant change, you will lose some bottom end takeoff. When i made this change on my Raider it corrected the speedometer perfectly. Now I have the Avon 250 on, and the speedometer is off a little bit the other way, not much change on takeoff tho.

I'm not getting what Low & Mean means by "The larger 240 tire is really 222mm on the stock rim". So is this something specific to the Dunlops? Can a 240 Metz be put on the Stryker.

When I talked to the Yamaha guys at Bike Fest I was told that the 240 wont fit on the stock Stryker rim, but I knew he was full of sh!t.

the 240 was designed to fit on a 8" rim or something close to 8". I believe the Stryker has a 7.5 rim same as the Raider. (Not exactly sure on the sizes) So when you put a 240 tire on a Stryker rim you end up getting 222mm total width. If you were to buy aftermarket wheels that are 8-8.5" wide and install a 240 tire you'll get 240mm of width.
Hope that helps understand this a little better.

That's funny because the Yamaha rep at Bike Fest told me the Stryker had a smaller rim than the Raider. I'm not sure this guy knew anything about the motorcycles there. He seemed to be wrong about a lot.

This is good info. The Metz 240 fits my Raider rim just fine.

lol, thats funny that they say that.....I checked out the stryker rear
pretty good and I dont see why it wouldnt fit. Plenty of room, and it
made a huge difference in the ride of the raider, Im sure it would do
the same for the stryker.

i had a Avon 240 on my first Raider, and the Avon 250 on my second one. You may want to consider adding Dyna beads when you do a tire change.

Yes. I rids the need for the tacked on weights, which I'm leaning toward next time since my current front wheel ended up with about 6 of those things on my last tire change. It looks horrid.
