HEy gys, I know there has been a few posts on this issue but everyone i read has conflicting information and a little confusing. I want to get a bigger rear tire, I understand you can do a 240 rear and 1" lowering dogbones but what if you go up to a 250. And what else do you have to modify going up to a 250? thanx

Has anyone run the dunlop elite 3 250 tire with 1" lowering kit? I have seen alot of good reviews on that tire.
I have both front and rear dunlop elite 3 and a 250 rear tire..... i believe if you plan on lowering more than 1" then you would also have to shave off some metal from the frame of the bike or it will hit the edges of the tire??? theirs a thread on this site that someone did where he cut out some of it and was good from their

Thank you. I think im going to go with the 240 dunlop. for the amount of difference size wise on the stock wheel its just a safer bet.
U may want to really think about that 250?? its bad ass and safe none the less..... i got 17THOUSAND MILES on my Stryker Now and it handles great with that 250?? ur call but they both work out well.... A guy i ride with sometimes regrets getting a 240 and likes the 250 better on the Stryker lol

I'm running this tire and the 1" drop. I measured it out and it had 1/8" of contact under full compression. Figured how often am I gonna bottom out THAT hard? Yesterday I was cleaning up the garage and puttin away some old parts and noticed that it had rubbed on the plastic part of the fender. Not the duckbill portion but the smooth underside of the fender thats shaped like the tire. It in no way caused any issue while riding, didnt even realized it happend? But if you are planning on leaving this on your bike it can rub, and could wear through your wiring even at the 1" setting. I'll try to get a pic on here today.

For those that have the 250 already, will you stay with the 250 when it comes time to get another tire?

I'm torn between switching to the 240 and dropping further,,,, or cutting off my rear subframe and fabbing a new one with a different fender so I can drop down on to the 250 8)
OK Straight, why not go with 260 metz, lower the bike where you want it and install a compatable subframe and fender, And lastly install a 30 tooth front sprocket to counteract larger circumference rear tire.
