I have to say with no mods to the engine/exhaust I've been a solid 40-46mpg depending. I take the 30-45 mph roads to work rather than hop on the 70+ highways. There are 55mph hr zones, but there only about 10 of the 34 miles I take on my work bike route. When just out and about I get the same. So far... reserve light kicks on 120-130ish... and when I pump fuel its 2.8 to 3.0 gallons every time.stroguy said:Quite pleased with my third tank fill. 3.1 gallons with an odometer of 121.3 miles. I'll take that.
Actually with factory 210 rear tire your speedo reads about 7% faster than actual so your odometer reads 7% more miles than actually travel so your mpg would be 7% less. I now run a 240 rear tire & the speedo/odometer are correct.atspence said:Remember that the speedo and odometer read less than actual so your mileage is even better!
Can you blame us really for babying this bike? It's only two years old and it needs love and care.The_Joker said:Based on this and the attached thread

You guys getting way over 40mpg must really be baby'ing her, and extremely easy on the throttle.....I've been concerned about my mpg (had the bike ~10 months) since I've been getting closer to 30.....I've never gotten near 40.
This past week I did not ride with my buddy who has a Ninja ZX-10R, to and from work on the backroads (18miles one way) and made an attempt at being so easy on the throttle that I never even went past a Qtr turn, just to see how good of mpg I could get.
I did improve by about 7mpg, due to not having to open her up to keep up with the 190hp Ninja, but still a bit disappointed, not sure I could take it any easier, and the rides just weren't as fun. I avoid the freeways on my commute, with a nice backroad, slightly twisty, usually traffic-less.
The results, 132 miles with 3.54 gallons = 37.28.
I've only got drilled pipes.
