I'm really surprised at the number of people I run into that have never heard of (let alone seen) a Stryker! But the first thing the say is usually "Wow. Nice bike"

Today I met a Suzuki Boulavard rider who parked next to me at the coffee shop. We exchanged the usual banter, which led to "What is that?"

"A Yamaha Stryker."

"Wow. Nice bike. Never heard of it."

I take defensive handgun training on Thursdays, my instructor is the only one that knew it was a Yammy when he walked up to it. I have all of the badges off. He said he knew looking at the rear fender area. Everyone else I have encountered hasn't a clue.

Normally nobody knows mine is a yamaha......let alone a Stryker......but last weekend I stopped by a local leather shop (to inquire if they could re-upholster my solo seat).....

Turns out they were having a biker gathering or something like that....lots of HD's.....there was a dude stopping traffic to help people park......He asked if mine was a Raider......first time for that for me......it's usually what kind is it....The dude probably noticed the Yamaha engine cover, which I'd like to remove (not because I'm not proud, just would rather keep people guessing ;) )
Of course his response was......"Nice bike"......

I noticed others checking it out while I was in the shop.....1 guy came up when i came out....and was basically giving praise..........

Unfortunately the shop didn't do upholstery of seats....Looking to have The Joker incorporated into my LM solo seat.....

I was on a long ride with my cousin in the mountains of West Virginia. We stopped at a McDonalds one morning and a guy rode in on a Dyna traveling the East Coast. He started talking to us and wanted to know if it was one of the "new Yamaha Star customs". He said he had heard about them, but this is the first one he had seen. Didn't know the name "Stryker", but new of the line and complimented the bike.

On the downside, we saw tons of bikers all weekend and every one of the riders spent more time talking about my cousin's Victory Vegas than the Stryker. Most didn't even acknowledge it, if the two were sitting together. I like it....all that matters.

They may not know what it is, but man, people do stare.
They stare from the sidewalk, from bus stops, from cars rolling up beside you, and when you turn to acknowledge them they give you that bobble head nod of approval.

The Stryker is flat out gorgeous, and it makes the guessing game even more fun.

I am the same as everyone else, "nice bike, what is it." I love the fact that there are not many in my area, I'd love to see more on the road to help pull the price of accessories down to where stuff is more affordable for us poor folk LOL

After 6 months of having this bike as a daily driver, the only person to recognize it was a Yamaha salesman. Haha! I still haven't seen another in my neck of the woods.
Went to eat yesterday and pulled up in parking lot and there sat a blue stryker, first one I have seen in my town. Talked to the owner. 72 yo man that bought it for himself as a birthday present. Lives about 15 miles away in another county. Was nice to finally see one.

Today going down the highway I had a guy in a Mustange convertible drive up next to us for a while and just kept looking over at us. He gave us a "thumbs up" and pulled away.

Had a guy today intentionally wait for me to pick a lane and go by him so at the light he could ogle the Stryker. If I wasnt so used to people checking it out I probably would have figured he was stalking me.
