Lots of rides like that around here. In a 3 hour ride you can go from lakes, to desert, to orchards and vineyards, to alpine areas and end up back where you started, then do a different route the next day.

I remember about 25 years ago I cruised from Seattle to Juneau then back down to Tiajuana and back up. It's about time to do the East Coast next.
