I was on a side road approaching a busy intersection i had a 100% green light the driver on the opposite side has a green arrow well the arrow went off and he just had a green light so i had the right of way and he turns left right in front of me and i hit him which ended up ripping his back bumper right off. My bike is repairable. At first glance i noticed handlebar is shot right fork might need replacing front rim and right mirror but could be hidden damage that i did not see also. My dealer has it and they are doing an estimate. As for me i did not go down i kept the bike up and i got a scrape on my ring finger it is not broken cause i can move it just feels like when you jam your finger and gets swollen and a little tough to move. I can say i still have not gone down yet? I will be damed if i go down to a 70 year old man driving a dodge mini van. A DODGE **** NO (sorry dodge fans). There was a great witness at the scene she was behind the van and saw it all in my favor. life goes on. So now i hope all goes well with the insurance companies involved.

glad your ok.... and look at this as an opportunity - to do some upgrades on your bike ... that is if the insurance company will cut you the check - so you can do your own repair work.

UPDATE: I had not spoken to anyone about the crash so i called the witness and it appears the witness was in the left turn lane the mini van was in the middle lane which is the wrong lane to make a left hand turn not only did he cut me off but cut off the witness and the witness said she clearly saw me and she had a green light but NO! ARROW which is why she waited. HMMMMMM interesting the plot is very thick.

Yeah glad to hear you scathed by without serious injury. I have been considering those headlight flashers. Not very cool looking on a cruiser I know but if it keeps me from becoming a hood ornament then maybe its the price of uncool.

We had a local accident here this weekend also- Couple on bike ran stop sign and were hit and killed. They lived about 35 miles away so could have been they were not familiar with the road.

Sorry to hear about your crash, glad your OK. What you described is pretty common around here. Idiots think because your on a bike it's OK to cut you off.

Glad you are ok! Also glad you have a good witness so the other driver doesn't pin crap on you trying to say it was your fault. Keep us posted =)

Update

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!! The grand total for repair is $4,452.59 there are just a lot of little things the average person would not know to look for. However their are somethings on the bill that don't need to be really changed out for example the floor board has a scratch that i can live with and the fuel tank has a scratch very minor that i can live with for now and repaint in the winter that alone is $1000.00. I will not jeopardize my safety to save a few bucks that is for sure.
