I added an engine guard to my Stryker.

It is very easy to install. You just have to replace four bolts. My biggest problem was that those bolts were on TIGHT. I actually broke a ratchet trying to get them off. Other than that, no problem.

My review of the add-on is that it is mostly for looks. If you like the look go for it. If you are thinking it can function as a highway bar/footrest, definitely not. It's just too small. There is no way you can rest your feet on it while riding. You would have to add some kind of additional peg.

I do think it looks good so I'm happy with it.

If that is 1" diameter tube, there are several possibilities for hiway pegs, i'm wondering if a L&M chin spoiler will fit now?

RSR
I just put the L&M chin spoiler on my Stryker... it added lots of character to the bike... BUT.. because of the extremely precise fit.. it will not fit with the engine guards... the bottom tube on the guards will prevent the hooks on the L&M chin spoiler from reaching the mounting point. I will try and post a pic of the L&M chin spoiler on my bike.

I took Demolition saw with metal blade and chopped that 1" bar right off. Doesn't add much strength anyway. Just clean up sharp edges and touch up paint.

Looks Mainly, but I also wanted to keep the Road Varmints from hitting my feet!!

Thanks, I did it right on the bike. I used a die grinder to smooth edges and found some plugs that fit ends of pipe. Then just painted.

This is my first accessory I've ordered for my Stryker. I don't think it'll do much if the bike is ever dropped while doing any speed but in the event it gets dropped in my yard I hope it'll keep the expensive bits from getting roughed up.

I like the look of it best over other guards I looked at. I was also considering a set of Cobra Highway bars but they only come in chrome and I felt would take away from the look of the bike.

This is my first bike and this will officially be my first mod. Is it normal to the this excited over a piece of metal?
