Fellow Bykers,

I have never bought aftermarket pipes in all my years of riding, mainly because I was too poor to do so. Now that I am older and smarter, I have the means to finally pull the trigger for pipes on my hot new Stryker. I am looking for something that has a nice rumble to it and when you goose it makes people within 50ft s--t their pants. Basically I want my blacked out Stryker to sound as mean as it looks. The pipes I am currently looking at are Cobra's (http://www.cobrausa.com/exhaust_detail.php?model_id=312&make_id=6&product_id=2890&make=&model=Stryker%20%2811%29&product=Speedster%20Swept#). I hear they are a pretty good brand. I am hoping some of you seasoned modders can give me some pointers on this one. Thanks in advance for your help.

I bought the cobra swept pipes for mine, and they sound great! They are very loud when you get on the throttle, and have a very deep good rumble when just idling. you can definitely hear them within a 50 ft radius, and it really cleans up the bike. I got them online for 529.00.

its quality, cobra's are alright but you know with V&H your buying a high quality product. its like comparing HJC helmets to SHOEI helmets: you know HJC will protect your head and looks good BUT overall SHOEI is a whole lot better product overall. no offence to all the guys running cobra's but this is the concensis of every biker i ride with even the few of them running cobra's.

hope this helps... 8)

Not to start an argument, but I have had cobras on several bikes. I never had any problems with blueing or such. I think its mostly a matter of opinion. Its like the Fender vs. Gibson debate among guitar players. I dont think you will be disappointed with either brand. Both have been around a long time and make a quality product. Just my 2 cents. 8)

BackinBlack... One of my friends and I were talking about the two brands at work today. He equated it like choosing between Pepsi or Coke. I have no idea which way to go on this one... :)

cobra swept pipes have full heat shields, if they blue you can't see it, V&H pipes are awesome, but i don't like the way they wrap around the engine cover on the stryker. just thought the cobras look cleaner, and they sound great.

Vance & Hines do that different curve on the 1 pipe for a reason- keeps both pipes near same length for even tuning(backpressure). Just like race headers

it is definatly a matter of opinion in the end but... the concensis around every biker iv'e talked to recently is V&H wins and many of them have had quite a few kinds of pipes. as for me im waiting until V&H comes out with a few of these for the stryker...
