I know everybody likes the look and sound of aftermarket pipes, so I am probably in the minority of those that think the stock pipes look awesome. Does anybody know if adding an aftermarket air intake and autotuner will still improve the performance of the Stryker, or will the restricted flow out of the back negate any changes? I was thinking of getting the Cobra autotuner (fi2000) and the Cobra PowerFlo Air Intake.

I was wondering the same thing. I wasn't a fan of the stock pipes but they have grown on me and since I had a few complements on their looks I have given it more though and also the idea of keeping it almost sock looking because it is an awesome looking bike just the way it is. And because I am on a tight budget I will probobly go with the auto tuner only and maybe my own custom mod on the air box. I do like the way the stock pipes sound drilled though.

I like the stock pipes as well, although the vance&hines pipes aren't bad looking either. I do think though that I am going to remove the baffels though. I think if you did this then the other mods would make more of a difference because it would allow more free flow but still keep the stock look. On the other hand completely stock I don't see where it would make much difference.

When I took off my stock pipe, and looked in the inlet end, I couldn't believe how restricted it looks. The catalytic converter looks almost solid.

LOL... I took off my stock pipe. I made a slip on out of a pipe that a friend was getting rid of. If you haven't looked at your stock exhaust closely, do it. The look of the 2 pipes is just the heat shields. Behind them is a big square that is the cat. Very dense material. Creates a lot of heat too...

I ran Cobra Fi2000 power tuner and Cobra intake before I put my pipes on. You can totally tell the different from the throttle response and the noise the intake makes!!! You will love it and slight increase in power. But I do recommend pipes if you invest your money in buying the tuner and intake it will open your bike up..BTW if the like the stock pipes look the ones I got on my bike is by Rush mufflers they look similar but the Rush ones look even more bad ass imo!!!

I had the intake and auto tuner on for several weeks prior to adding my pipes. You could definitely tell a difference. And in my own personal situation, I think the pipes were more of a sound improvement than a performance improvement at that point.

Hey yall just a side note, when I was in high-school I used to take the cat's off of cars in junk yards and sell them to scrap yards for about $100 a piece. I'm not sayin rip yours off but if yall got some junk your not gonna reuse then you might be able to get a few bucks back.

I too am eyeballing a Cobra PowerFlo Air Intake but don't really have the $$$ to get both right now. Can you just install a new intake without getting an autotuner? Would I see any performance increase?
the cobra powerflo intake was one of the first mods i did to my bike and just an upgraded intake alone made the throttle responce much quicker.

Impossible- Cat is inside of front part of muffler assembly 3" diameter x 3" long, Welded in place back behind 1-1/2" inlet pipe around a curve. Only way to remove is drill multiple holes threw it and scrap the $hit outta there. There is a thread on how to do this if any one wants to take the time and do a search!
