Ok guys just wondering!! I'm about to order my new exhaust, and my new powrflow.. But the question is: do I necessarily need to get a fuel computer programmer?? Or just mount the upgrades and let her rip..

I'd get a programmer. As far as I know (not a professional mechanic) our bikes run lean from the factory. If you bolt up higher flow intake and exhaust you will run more lean and engine temp will be higher. I've got cobra sweeps and a k&n filter (stock box). I went with cobra auto programer and love it! There should be other threads for the same issue though.

If you change just pipes or air intake then no tuner needed. It's when you change both you MUST install a tuner.

Do your mods and go for a ride. See if you think it needs a tuner. JMHO I know of many folks who are running mods without a tuner.........such as me on my VTX.

Since you are changing the pipes and air flow to get the optimum performance and fuel mileage - you will need to get a fuel management system - either a Power Commander unit or Cobra - the Cobra is more user friendly.

The styrkers are mapped to the stock air and pipes. Any changes made to the air and pipes, you should make the map changes accordingly.

I'm running V&H Big Radius, K&N filter in stock air-box and my bike smells like it runs just a tad rich and i have no fuel management.

I have V&N Staggered with stock air. NO Fuel management, and it runs perfect.

I use an ejk fuel programmer on mine, it is priced well and works great with my cobra swepts and is fully adjustable. Even get a discount if u fill out the forum member form on there website.

When you put pipes in the VTX didn't you also install a jet kit? I had to with mine
