Please excuse the crappy pics and dirty bike I'm in the middle of several mods.

Ok so I wanted a solo bag that went with the look of my bike. I picked up an ammo box from a local store. Dry fitted it on my swing arm to mark my holes (did not drill into the swing arm). Also added a draw stryle lock to the lift handle

Made some brackets and also used the upper belt gaurd mount
Gave it a light sand and primed it with an enamel and all the mounting hardware. I also baked the enamel at 200 for 2 hours (removes paint thinner and hardens enamel). Then I used a flat black enamel (same process) and painted a biohazard symbol in a gloss black.

It turned out great. Oh I also lined the finished box with rubbed so ya shouldn't hear things rattle around. Let me know what you think

Looks pretty cool. That is what I was considering for saddle bags when I repaint my bike to be more like the flying tigers.

That's a pretty cool idea, like the biohazard symbol. Maybe go crazy with it and make the symbol neon zombie green lol

I have a custom plate that says "VIRUZ" and I work in a hospital and thats an easy paint job lol

I work in the CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear) response world, so I appreciate the bio symbol. Nice part of being in the military is you can get ammo cans easy. I have a dozen or so in my garage for odd and end storage. Never thought of putting them on my bike. Don't think they'd work as well with blue and chrome. Looks good on yours though.

I think it came out great! I like the biohazard sign a lot. Mentat actually had the same idea last year and did both sides.

Thanks Mike. I thought about doing full saddle bags but I don't need that much storage day to day and use a kuryakyn grantour bag for road trips. Those look great my ammo box is a lot smaller and more suited for a solo bag.

As far as the bracket goes I made it my self, pictures may be tricky but I'll come up with something. You can see in the pic under the box part of the bracket I used square aluminum tubing for that part so it has 'Floating' look

Making it your own is good - and is functional.
I'm not a big fan of square boxes on a bike ...

Great idea. Can't say much for the look though but functionality is what it's about.

That is great Idea Mike, except I dont think my neighbors would like that. I dont think I would get very far down the road here ... Paranoia....hehehhee just too many uptight people around here.
