I have them and they are nice !!! they also expand to add more volume !!!

that is true... I just finished treating them with water repellent spray and see if there's any difference...

Wonder if a nylon compression bag over the top would help

You can also go really cheap-A$$ like I did.
Spotted a member here pix (Crazy8ight) who had installed them.

They are smallish compared to some, waterproof they are not (I always use a bag liner for gear I care about).
Sling-over, couple tie-wraps, good to go. They do not interfere with wheel belt etc., don't need bag brackets for these.
