I know there are a bunch of post of drilling the stock exhaust. But can you do the same thing in the Cobra Swept exhaust? I just wondered if you can get more sound out of the Cobra Swept.

I just pulled the baffles out of mine. I love the sound with one exception. On decel it has a "rasp" to it. I'm thinking about drilling the half inch hole and putting the baffles back in. I love the loud bark I get with the open pipes, though.

SR 71 - When you look in the end of the Swept pipes there is a solid metal disk about 10" from the end. Is this where you drilled a hole through? With the curve of the pipes did you have any issues drilling it?

Yes, I used a hole saw and extension. Very easy. The more I think about it, it may have been a 3/4" hole.

I plan on getting the bigcitythunder baffles over the winter. I pulled the baffles out of my swepts and couldn't stand the rasp on decel. Idle seemed fairly close with or without baffles in. Wide open is where i noticed the volume increase.

Plus wont you lose backpressure and as a result lose a couple ponies by running with no baffles?

Thanks SR 71.

2012Raven - How did you pull the baffles out of yours? Do they bolt in somehow?

We really would like to get a deeper sound.
look on the back side and 8in. from the back. There is a small allen bolt on both pipes. Take those out and they can be pulled out. Warning tho, if you got any mileage on them they can be a real ***** to break free so get a blanket cuz you might be laying there awhile. I wouldnt recommend doing it on a jack. I used a long set on needle nose pliers to grab them.

Do the Big City baffles just slide in where the other one comes out?

Do you have to take off the heat shields?

I did see a bolt on the back side of the pipes but was wondering if there is a bolt on either side of each pipe. I thouhgt about calling Big City but didn't have time.

Anyone have the Big City baffles installed?

I had 2k miles on mine when i pulled them out so they were a real pain in the A$$ to get out.

First i sprayed a bunch of wd-40 up in the end of each pipe around the sides. Then i had to make a tool to get them out. I took a piece of 1/2in pipe (about 1ft long) with a 90 degree bend at the end and drilled a small hole at the end without the bend. I put a bolt through the hole( just a bit smaller the the one used to hold the baffles in) i reached the tool up inside and put the small bolt inside the bolt hole used for mounting, then tapped them out(striking a hammer on the 90deg bend)

They were really stuck in there and i busted my knuckles several times, but 3 hours later, they were out :)
