Hey everybody, I just bought my Stryker not too long ago but noticed that my acceleration and decel was not as smooth. For example, when I take off and cruising at a steady speed and give it a little more gas it's a sudden jolt and depending on where on the rpms when I let go it's like I snapped the throttle shut immediately. I did try to loosen the throttle cable with no luck, I just want to see if this is normal or not? Thanks.

The problem I had with mine was the throttle was tight. Very sensitive off the start. But after awhile it loosened up and its fine now. My bike I bought off the floor. I figured everything would loosen up after awhile...

Got my Stryker in June, and had the same “jolt” experience with mine, it happened when cruising at low speeds usually in second gear. It just took a little time for me to get used to the throttle, as SFCMcGan said “STRYKER has pretty immediate throttle response....”

Sounds like you're riding in higher RPM's. When revving higher, it's closer to the power band so it'll take off with smaller bits of throttle and the engine slows down pretty quick if your engine speed is much higher than your actual speed when you let off the throttle. Playing with the throttle adj cable won't fix this. If I'm right, it's the nature of the beast.

This bike does have a short throttle distance between all the way closed to full open positions in relation to how fast the engine responds. Also the rpm increases faster than similar motors. It's just the nature of the east. It just wants to go. I don't think there is a way to adjust the amount of travel in throttle opening and closing in relation to how far you twist the throttle.

Thanks everybody, so it is normal. The bike is still new and not broken in yet so hopefully it will loosen up when it breaks in. I was reading on some reviews about our bikes and one of the reviews mentioned they hated the belt slash or something along those lines? That's what I was thinking it was.
