Ok this one may be a silly question but I have to ask. I searched a little but found no specific answer. Does the rear tire need ro be removed in order to mount a side mount license plate holder to the axle? I just ordered a road 6 customs vertical holder and was curious. Just trying to see how many hours of work this will be for the dealership.

The wheel doesn't have to be completely removed, but the axle does have to be pulled. I did mine in my driveway in less than a half an hour. The important thing if you do it yourself, is to make sure you pay attention to where the spacers go.

Cut a slot in the hole from the bottom up, then just loosen up axle and slip it in place. Then just readjust belt and you're on the road again.

If you are slotting it, dont touch the belt tension.
