Two years ago I happened to spot a 2011 Stryker in Blue, and a week ago, I lucked out on the best deal ever! I knew this was going to be my forever bike...its my 6th one since I started riding almost 10 yrs ago, and I've been almost 3 yrs without a bike (my choice). Prev owner did alot of aftermarket work to it, almost 8 grand so far, and I feel like I stole it! Such a thunderous throaty purr to this beast, my insides went to jello when he fired it up for me to try...sigh.

Funny how even tho I'm female, all my previous bikes seemed to be "she's". Not this one. Hells no. And for the first time EVER, I put a name to my bike. THOR, God of Thunder. Sigh. Hubby laughed his butt off at me...

Spent my last dollar to get this bike. Can't even afford to insure it for a month or so yet...but I've never been this happy being broke. Retarded I know. Its ok. He's there. Waiting for me. And I have the biggest ****-eating grin on my face...

Happy Riding all! Keep the rubber down, and the shiny side up!

Ha ha...thanks everyone! What a great welcome!

Crazy enough, I don't even have a complete list of everything the prev owner added to this bike...it was on the add when he was selling it, and I never thought to write it all down. Deep down I thought maybe I was dreaming, the add just a hopeful fantasy being created by my bike-deprived mind.

Cobra pipes, plus a command module added to the engine to increase performance, air intake is not stock, mustang "ride me forever" comfy seat, switched out signals to LED strips with an intergrated back tail light, new mirrors, grips, speedometer facing, windshield (first time riding with one of those, I was like WHAT? No juicy bugs to munch on??) and a 4 yr extended warranty. But for some reason I think there was a couple other things.

And yes, I've only been in Winnipeg 2 yrs, and the insurance company wants me to take out a 2nd mortgage on my home to pay them...I'm originally from the Maritimes! I'm resigned to the fact that I can't ride right away. For now, just starting it up and letting the engine run while I jump up and down in glee is enough.

Although a day like today, not windy, 27 degrees, sunny... the sensible, law-abiding me has a choke hold on the stupid, throw-caution-to-the-wind me so as not to 'cheat' and just take Thor for a little spin. Just 5 minutes...around the block? (2 hrs later..)

AND great to know I'm not the only girl on one of these..!

Cheers!!

Only a tad excited!! I've had my eye on wanting the stryker for a while now...and it had to be a 2011 in that sexy Impact Blue. (How girly is that? Liking a bike for its color???)

And until I can put the insurance on him, I will resist that throttle urge. I've driven in quite a few different places, most of the canadian provinces (except BC), some of the states in the grand USA, Germany, Italy, Jamaica, UAE and Afghanistan. I have to say that Winnipeg has some of the worst drivers I've ever seen...not all, but it seems they are all out at once...like some kind of code gets transmitted through radio waves and POOF, all the bad drivers leave their homes, get into their cars and become maniacs... I think its why insurance in this province is soooo high! :suspicious:

Hubby is jealous cause I have a working bike and he doesn't...(na na na na na na:D), but he is rebuilding his, he has a Road Star Warrior, 04, with 50K on the engine, so he is replacing all seals, rings, gaskets, new pipes, commander mod, he is custom making grips and forward controls (he is a machinest for the airforce), new paint, fenders, lights, ect, ect. However, he got loaded on a last minute course and had to go away for 5 months, leaving his bike still sitting in pieces in the garage. He will have about 6 weeks when he gets home before it gets too cold out to work on it...we have a SHORT riding season here.

But I can live vicariously through all of you, loving the pics of everyone's ride, discovered the "Studs on strykers" thread (AWESOME), and enjoying everyone else's adventures for now. I'm a patient person!

I will have to post some pics of my bike...right now the only ones I have are on my phone. I need a couple of good ones...lol...

Cheers!
