Just finished my side mount license and figured I'd throw together my how too.
I purchased the Side mount rear axel holder from: http://www.road6customs.com/online-shop.html#ecwid:category=337153&mode=product&product=1827453
The install of that was cake. once the rear axel is off I just flipped around the ed caps which clears the room for the bracket to be installed.
For my license plate light I purchased the LED light bolts: http://www.customdynamics.com/illuminatorz_licence_plates.htm#LED_Tag_Bolts
unfortunatly now there are ones with White LED's to he license and Red's towards the back of the bike. (****)
I also bought some addition 20 gauge red and black wire from radio shack for about 8 bucks because the wires provided aren't long enough.
1st installed the plate and the LED license bolts.
2nd I decided to run the wires under the swing arm, I felt it hid the wires a little better.
3rd I unbolted the bottom belt gaurd and drilled a hole which is concelled by the bike frame. Not sure how big the whole is, but it's just big enough for 2 20 gauge wires.
4th used the last bolt on the bottom belt gaurd to hold the wire up. ran the wire down into the belt gard. before pushing any wires up through the hole on the top of the bottom gaurd I just used to Butt connectors to splice the 2 red and 2 black wires into one.
5th Ran the now 1 red and one black wire up in through the hole on the top of the belt gaurd. My trick was just used some left over wire and ran it down from the top and taped on wire to it to pull it up through, then once i could get a grip on the red on I taped the black one to it to pull it up through. Just not enough finger room to find the little hold and feed the wires through.
6th I ran the cables through some black sheeth and in front of the swing arm but then under the top belt and belt gaurd.
7th I ran the wiring up between the battery encasing and the rear tire gaurd using the plastic bolt lock thing to keep it over towards the middle away from the top belt.
8th once up through there i used butt connectors to conect the RED wire to the BLUE and Black to Black.
