At about 1,500 miles my battery died. I have always kept it on a trickle charger. This charger has worked on many bikes and quads that are at least 5 years old and on their original batteries. After having a replacement battery installed by yamaha "still under warranty" I got 3 weeks out of this battery and now having problems starting. I get a lug and lose power to my display it barely kicks over but seems to be the battery again. Any other hints to the problem. Shop said they tested the stator and it is charging the battery when its running. :-\

Sounds to me like the shop's full of mud, do you have any accessories like a power supply or powered speakers or led's or anything like that? I have over 10k on my factory battery with absolutely no issues and I don't run a trickle charger

Here is a quick video on how to test the charging system for a motorcycle. Worked out great when I had problems with my 07 GSXR 750. Come to find out it was my regulator/rectifier. Which I replaced with a Yamaha one cause they are made a lot better.
