I am wanting to get a new low profile helmet and just though I would get some suggestion on one that doesn't make you look like and idiot while sitting 5 inch on top if your head. I have heard that the outlaw slim line was real small and sat low on the ol dome. Any other input would be great but I really like the polo style.

The Outlaw carbon fiber low profile sits really low. It is very thin. They were out of stock for months, and I got the fiberglass one with the Relic graphic. The fiberglass one was lower than a Bell, or HJC or any other I had seen that were DOT. I still felt like a mushroom head. I got the carbon fiber one a couple weeks ago, and love it. When my girlfriend saw it, I had to get her one too, because her Daytona skull cap was too thick to her. Not sure if they have them in the polo though.

Outlaw Ultra Slim Helmet series. Comes in Matte, Gloss and Carbon Fiber. So fit so low and nice they almost look like a novelty helmet and still DOT approved. You can order it off of Leatherup.com, but usually out of stock so set up the email notification. They usually sell out in a couple days. Make sure you get it a size smaller than what you usually wear for a helmet. Go precisely by there chart and you'll be good to go.

Sorry to bring an old thread up, I wanted to avoid unnecessarily making a redundant thread.

My question is, do these helmets lift up off your heads at 70+ mph? Will it not matter if you have a windshield? Thanks, folks.

The first Outlaw I had did. It was the fiberglass one. If I didn't have it strapped real tight, it wanted to lift up, and I didn't use the visor on it. The carbon fiber one seems "deeper". Seems like my head is more "in" the helmet, and the other seemed more like the helmet was "on" my head. Although at higher speeds, there is always a little "lift". Hope this makes sense.

I have a Voss german outlaw that I liked alot. It does lift a bit unless its tight. I will be getting a DOT legal half this next time around! After going down in my fullface with no issues I hate to even think what would've happend in my outlaw helmet. Not only that but because I was wearing a DOT helmet, I got out of a ticket, and my insurance gave me $1500 to help with Dr. bills, NICE! The first question the CHP,EMT's,Dr. asks is wheres his helmet and is it DOT! I believe your insurance can penalize you if its not, just something to think about?

I have the Outlaw low profile carbon fiber half helmet. I love it, but I do still get that lift when doing 70+, with my 17in windshield. I just have to make sure it's almost choking me when I put it on. lol
