I think you need to remove the bolts by the seat and tilt the tank to get to the injector connections. Even then it's supposed to be very tight. Small hands or long needle node pliers help.
Removing the tank would make it a lot easier to do the injector connections but of course then you have to remove the tank... Could be a wash.
I have some wiring that needs to be routed up front so once I do that project I'll be able to say for sure how much of a pain removing the tank is. Others have done it for painting so maybe they will chime in...
