So I've just finished installing the Big Radius, which was fun, and the chrome looks great, but I had originally decided to heat wrap the beginning portion of the pipes. My question is, should I wrap the pipes with the chrome heat shield on, or take the shield off and wrap them. Wouldn't 2 barriers be better or would it look at little thick? What do you all think?

They sound awesome by the way. Best mod to date.

I would wrap just the pipe and not over the Shields. That's the way L&M did theres and looks Bitch3n!

I don'y think so. That's the reason you wrap them when you don't have shields. Would not want to rest your legs against the exhaust even with shields.

drizztbob, I just installed mine yesterday. I had the pipe ceramic coated then the heat wrap. There is not much radiant heat and I am able to touch the heat wrap about a second or so after an hour of riding.

I do have a question. Is this correct? I have an inch or so of space between the mounting point to the exhaust port

That looks great man. Yeah I think I will be taking these off to put the heat wrap on. I like the look of it better than all the chrome. The gap is exactly what mine looks like too. How much did you pay for the ceramic coating, and did you do that for heat purposes?

I was going to do the heat wrap only, but worry it was not enough to block the heat. So I got ceramic thermal barrier coating that is rated for 1200 deg and i paid $200. If you going to do heat wrap, I will recommend dei titanium wrap. That is what I use.

are the baffles hard to remove, any sound clips of the difference with and without

I found the baffles very difficult to remove. So difficult in fact, I never did get mine out. Granted, I didn't really have the specialized tools people have made to help knock theirs out, but meh... Honestly, having heard some friends' Harley's with insanely loud pipes, I'm ok with mine being a bit more reasonable. My neighbors appreciate it, too... at 4AM when I'm firing up to ride to work.
