black spike filter

Where can I get a black spike air cleaner without all the hardley hardware? These things are all over Ebay but they all come with hardware for other bikes, which I obviously don't need..... I just want the standard 3 bolt black spike by itself and I'll make my own adapter for it. Anybody know where I can get one?

Thanks, BP

Look for the spike from the yamaha 650. They run from 60-100. That is what I have

I just cut the stock to the shape of the back cover. You do need to drill the chrome back plate but it is really easy. Tell you what text me and ill work out something with you where I do all the work 8323474728

are you running any fuel management with this and the gutted pipes?
I had it before I had the filter and I thought I had a problem with EJK so I unplugged it. I found I was the one with the problem because I had the connections backwards. I put on the filter and have put few miles without the EJK and I do not see any problems. I will be connecting it again to see the difference. So answer is no at this time but only tested around 10 miles with speeds no more than 50

Thanks man, I remember now talking about that issue. Been too long ago for my brain. I will most likely contact you sometime in the future about doing one for me too if that's okay. I have had this on my mod list forever.
My offer goes for everybody here. Here is the deal, I have my stock air box because Immortal donated his for my project just in case I messed up one I could still ride. To save on shipping for you guys I can purchase spike from ebay, of course I will need the money for that but you will see the price it sells for. I will do all modifications and ship plus cost of shipping. Once you receive you send me your stock air box so I can keep this going. I will not charge for my work but will take "donations" once you receive the finished product. What do you guys think?

Thanks for the offer, your work is awesome! But.....I am kinda one of those guys that likes to do his own work, makes the bike feel like its all mine......know what I mean?

So, if I'm following you correctly, you cut out your stock airbox to the same shape as the back plate of the spike you posted link to, and bolt the back plate to the piece you cut out. Then you bolt the spike to the back plate, and......done?

What do you have to drill on the back plate?

Flatten out front part of stock. Line up back plate and trace. Cut stock to shape. Mark the two top holes from stock to back plate. Drill back plate so that screw fits. Then use bigger bit and drill 1/4 of the way and start test fitting new flared screws. Once flat assemble. Picture shows screws I bought from home depot. You will need to go to auto parts store to buy crank case breather filter and I used a brass fitting to connect the hose and filter

Here are the screws that you need to drill. If you look at the one on the right it partially sits under the spike.

Thanks so much for the info! IM definitely gonna do this. Been wanting to since I got my bike but didn't wanna spend the huge dollars on one. This will save some money and give me the satisfaction of doing it on my own too!

Thanks again!

Took my boy Raul up on this offer! I bought one of the black spikes off of amazon for around $90 and had it shipped to him. He cut the stock air intake and fitted it to the spike, then test fitted and sent me picks to make me drool lol. Shipped it all out to me in about a day. It looks and sounds awesome. I put it on before coming to work and all the guys said the fit looks factory. Incredibly nice offer from him for anyone worried about messing up their own intake. Oh, and he does all this just to help out! Guys like him make this forum one of the best I have ever been on.

That looks fkin awesome. I might have to follow suit when I get back.
The easiest way to add a spike intake is with this Thunder Manufacturing adapter. It'll allow you to add any standard Harley 3-bolt air intake to your Stryker. I've been very happy with mine.
