so i've searched pretty good (i think) for Black Vance & Hines 2 into 2 Big Radius pipes and haven't come to a conclusion if they are available or not. i've seen a couple videos of them in black but all the ones i've seen for sale are chrome. Also a couple of the posts here say that people are powder coating them. Is that the deal? i like the look of them and from the videos they sound pretty good, is there any good alternatives out there?

For a while Low & Mean offered these ceramic coated black for a extra $200 i believe it was. You may want to call to see if that's still the case. The only other option is to buy them and then take the heat-shields somewhere to have them ceramic or powder coated.

They are still avaiable in black ceramic coated from elitemotosports.com. The cost was an additional $200 or $829 total. Have had them a year, they sound great & no issues

Yes - it needs to be ceramic coated.

If you are savvy enough, you could always cerakote them. It's a ceramic finish used on firearms and other items of that sort. They have an air cured type that I believe can withstand temps up to 1400 degress if I remember correctly. It's not cheap but probably less expensive than having them powdercoated.

thanks for the responses.. i guess its chrome for $630 or black for $830. I have a back up of the V&H twin slash in black for $475.. which is looking like a good option for now. i 'll look into that firearm coating process, it looks tough

Agreed! I had mine ceramic coated for $190 and that included the pipes, heat shields and clamps. Nothing shiny around mine. Got mine from Dennis Kirk for $576

I called Low and Mean a few days ago and asked about the pipes. They don't offer them in black anymore. Something about the powder coating process they use wasn't giving a finish that they wanted to sell.
