About to pull the trigger on a 2011 Blue Stryker. I know that the windshield will take away from the looks, but there will be times when I will need it. I am 6'7" and will need a tall Quick Release Windshield. Anyone have a pic of one installed.

Maybe you will need the tall back bar to balance the looks.

I don't do much riding at night. The Speedo Dimmer doesn't help? If that's the tall in your pic, it doesn't look bad.

The dimmer only adjusts the display brightness not the red back light. I also found that the windshield creates a wind tunnel effect forcing air over the tank that is brutal. I made some lower wind deflectors to stop this. I am planning to cut the bottom of the windshield around the headlight so I can lower it about 4" to eliminate both problems. Bottom line I was not real happy with the tall windshield design and feel Yamaha did not do their homework on it.

Ya I don't like the way the tall windshield feels at high speeds on the the wife's V Star either. It creates air pockets that throw you around a bit, kind of like being behind a semi. I like the steady flow of air that is actually light that comes from the front of the Stryker. But on the 950 without a shield it's a bit stronger because your arms are out much wider and you lean forward a bit more. And I guess I have no idea what the wind feels like at 6'7" because I'm only 5'6". lol. And if you don't mind leaning back on your passenger or some other kind of support, that lets the air flow over you at a better angle. Just wish I had the reach of someone 6'6" so I could reach the bars. lol. But the tale shield I think would look fine as long as a tall person was siting on the bike but may look a bit out of balance with out a person on it. And if you stay within the speed limits and don't plan on freeway speeds all day long the wind is not that big of a problem to me. Just my opinion. ;) Ya, I know, who is gona stay within the speed limits? hhehe. So I really like the way the mini blvd looks but wonder I it does much for air flow?

I'm 6'1" and have the mini boulevard, basically the wind hits me just about above my eyes, this is after we added a 3/4" spacer at the top mount just to see if it would help, before the spacer it hit me just below my chin, I would imagine someone under 5'10" would have little or know wind to the head, but I'm also lowered 1" so that probably makes a difference too

Thanks Guys. I guess I'll find out soon enough for myself. I pick my new Stryker up tomorrow. I had the dealer throw in the tall QR windshield as part of the deal. I'll have to wait for it to get here in a week or so and install it. I'll let wind flow over me until then.

Looking forward to getting to my new Styrker. I am adding her to my stable with the 1999 RSV and 2009 V Star 950 Tourer. I'll be "Which one will I ride today"? 8)

That is a thought Toby. The wife does ride two up with me, but has no desire to ride on her own. I'll just have choices to ride. ;D

Aw teach her how to ride. I love having my wife on the back of mine and she loves it to. But she likes riding her own also. And it's nice having a partner that's always there that rides with you. You don't have the problem of finding buddy's with time to do a ride. But I keep her in front of me because if she's behind me I look in my mirror to much and worry. Any way enjoy your new Stryker.
