I'm sporting a temporary blue tank on my 2011 Raven while I modify my stock black tank. I'm really digging the blue over the original black so the custom tank I'm making might be the same color.

I also got a spare rear fender and chopped it. Right now the OEM taillight is on using zip ties but I will find a cleaner means of permanent installation once the R1 integrated tail comes in.

What else did I do ... I got an affordable leather fork bag from Amazon, wired up the LED license plate bolts, and I think that's it for now. I'm currently waiting on a headlight adapter to install my retrofitted HID bucket.

I hope some of you guys like it.

JC, along with chopping the fender short, I also had to chop the rearmost portion of the fender support skeleton / frame.

I'll take more detailed pictures once I have the replacement taillight to install. I'm strongly considering welding the rearmost fender support back using a different support structure. The only good reason is because hot chicks are always asking to ride and my setup currently only facilitates the solo seat without provisions for the pillion. I did have to chop the fender support skeleton because the frame was visible and unsightly with the trimmed fender.

Thanks for the positive feedback

Great look to that bike! Now lower it 2-1/4". And you are definately right- The Blue tanks goes very well with the black bike . Great job and way to be first with that short a bobbed look!!!

No rear signals, that's why I'm anxious to receive ny R1 taillight.

11Stryker, it is lowered 2.5" but have yet to install the progressive rate spring.

He tapered the side of the fender up is why it looks high. Tire only 210 also. Think it's 2-1/4 not 2 -1/2 ?

Black and blue looks great. That's the theme I'm working on with my bike right now. Eventually it will be the impact blue, blue chrome, black chrome and chrome. Using cheaper paints to experiment with to get the right combo.

I'll bet you can lower that much further then than the rest of us due to you have very little fender framing to hit. If you end up putting on a 30 tooth front pulley- it moves wheel back to near end of belt adjustment, and that would let you lower even more. Cool!!:thumb:

I hit a dip in the road the other night and the tire ate the taillight I had tucked under the chopped fender. So what you see is the exposed circuit board with the LEDs zip tied to the rearmost two pillion holes in the fender, LOL!

I'm shopping for low profile plastic housed taillights and thinking of mounting ideas (over fender or under fender, I'll consider all possibilities) so please make suggestions.

The main purpose of the chopped rear fender + L&M solo seat was to accentuate the seamless curve starting from the tank. I don't really want to ruin that curve with an obtuse light fixture.

Some updates ... I've had way too many lady ladyfriends ask to ride. I thought I'd always ride solo but I guess times change. This week I went to work trying to accomodate the stock seat.

I TIG welded part of the fender support back on and welded some L-brackets to support the back part without being obtrusive beneath the bobbed fender.

I am going to have to reinvent the backrest since the rearmost mount point for the sissy bar is now gone.

Then I hit a dip in the road and the tire ate my taillight, so I retrofitted an R1 integrated taillight. Since I will be riding 2up I raised my rear suspension a notch. I suppose 2.25" was already too low, even for solo riding, with my taillight configuration.

Question, is there a product that is just a Stryker rear pillion, so I can continue using my L&M solo seat when riding 2up? And with the pillion gone I can put in a luggage rack to cover up the unsightly hardware?

Star makes a Comfort cruise pillion. Not sure how it would look with L&M seat. Nice job with the reconstruction by the way!!

I will check out the Comfort Cruise. Do you know if anyone makes a luggage rack that uses the pillion mount hardware?

Next up without giving too much away: fixed rear fender, fiber optic taillights
