Yamaha now has a promo comparing the Bolt to the Vulcan. Funny some of the items they dislike about the Vulcan is what I like about the Stryker. However, comparing a factory bobber to a factory chopper is apples and oranges.

100% agree. Why compare a bobber against a chopper like bike? Engine displacement is the only thing similar. The Vulcan is more of a Stryker side by side comparison.

What other better reason to make your brand look better against another? Even regardless of the apples and oranges.

This video was geared towards those two are probably novice to the motorcycle thing and might be easily swayed. Especially since they play up on the bobber style.

Anyone who is more familiar with bikes and knows what they are looking for won't be easily sold solely on this video.

It's all about playing up your brand.

Yamaha is comparing the Bolt to any make of bike with a similar CC. Must be 6 videos out there right now with these same guy. The lines just change a bit depending on the bike. It's starting to become a joke. Don't think Yamaha has to do this. It will sell on its on merits.

Saw a Bolt commercial on TV yesterday. The promo one used at the unveiling. With May kicking off the riding season it makes sense they are throwing everything at the wall.

I like Yamaha~ I hope these guys knock it out the ball park with this new bolt. I like but its not my cup of tea. I'm sure there is a new (young) or old market out there for this bike. When I think about it, since I have owned a Yamaha I have never seen the service department.... Thank you Jesus!

Wow, I rode the Bolt a few months ago at a test ride and HATED it. The ergonomics are so poor for a rider over 5'10" that I was close to just cutting the test ride short and just return to the dealership. The clutch is the worst I've ever encountered on any bike and I've been riding dirt bikes, dual sport and several types of street bikes since 1978.

It was an option for my new bike purchase right up until I rode one then was immediately dismissed.

Something must of been wrong with the Bolt you road. I bought a Bolt for my wife because it was so light, nimble & had the best clutch of any bike I've road in the last 40 years included dirt, sport & cruiser bikes,

I was thinking of the Bolt for the wife and she liked the one we saw at the dealership. That said, if the clutch is as Steam Powered Boy posted that is a deal killer. My wife is riding on my Stryker because she had a 650 with clutch issues - we don't want to relive that hassle!

You should PM Bozzly about the Bolt clutch. He bought a Bolt for his wife a couple of weeks ago.

The clutch does let out a little further than the Stryker but, to me feels plenty fine. The clutch is not going to be your reason for not buying it. It has plenty of ride out in it. The whole bike is an awesome little bike. The only reason i would see for not buying it is if you are too tall. Otherwise it has way more power than it needs and is very light and agile.

As a matter of fact one of the first things my wife told me when she test rode it was how much lighter it felt then her VLX 600. I had to tell her that this bike is 100 lbs heavier than her old VLX. She did not believe me so I looked it up online and showed her. At 540 pounds the Bolt rides and feels like a 300 pound bike. Don't believe me? Go Test Ride it and see for yourself... I am thinking you will be quite surprised by this bike :thumb:

It is a Very nimble bike that is for sure . A local Yamahe dealer brought one up for us to show at a recent Branson Bike Rally . I got to ride it back and forth from garage to the rally . It is an amazing little bike . My only complaint was it is defiantly built for shorter riders I m 6' ,so was a little cramped . And the fuel gauge is really had to see duing the day .The clutch was different than the Stryker but not so much it caused any problems . You can really sling the Bolt around it felt like it weighed nothing
Plenty of power for the size bike it is . Was thinking of getting for my daughter but it was cramped for her . For a first bike or a smaller rider it would deffenatly be worth a strong look .
