My favorite pair of riding boots are a pair of buffalo skin dingo style boots. I have always had a problem with the paint being scratched on the boot guard. I didn't want to remove it because my boot would then be touching the pipes at times. I wrapped it in leather but it was so close to the exhaust that it faded it out quickly. I would dye it back black and it would fade again. I got the idea of just using black wire ties placed close together on the top and bottom rails of the guard and I love it. Problem solved and I think it looks good. Can't beat the price either. Here is a pic.

Did you paint the yamaha cover black or plasti-dip it?
