So, I rode a Kawasaki Z1000 this weekend (wee...) and it had a very tiny "windshield/deflector" which seemed to make a noticible difference on wind to my chest area. Cruising 70-80mph was actually more comfortable than on my Stryker. This experience made me start thinking about the boulevard for my bike--even though I typically don't like the look of windshields I do have a 25 mile daily ride to work on the hwy (70-75mph).

I did some searching but didn't find a whole lot about the subject from smaller people. I always wear a full face helmet so wind to my head isn't an issue at all. I'm looking to reduce the air-force on my chest area during the hwy riding.

Thoughts from fellow Strykers?

The boulevard will work for you then. As long as not worried about head shake. Keep in mind the stryker has a rake which does make a difference with wind. The Kawasaki Z1000 doesn't I believe. All the difference in the world.

I'm 5'7" and had the boulevard then switched to the Rifle replacement at 15" and that's a big difference. I still get some head buffet but not awful and I can listen to ear buds with my half helmet on.

Ah, thanks for that info Joe, i actually didn't realize that. Would the head shake be more pronounced that sans boulevard?

Mine was. The up draft is what gets ya. Under 50mph not a problem.
There is lots of info about the Boulevard, do a search and lots of info will pop up. I bent my brackets on mine and helped a lot. Now have the MS batwing.

I am 5'7" and felt like the boulevard did a great job of keeping the wind off my chest and keeping me from getting fatigued from it but it provide a bit more noise at my ears especially if you wear a half helmet which I read you do not. With the Full it was never really an issue. If you do decide to go with a half helmet you will for sure have alot of wind noise in your ears. The rifle, boulevard add on shield should help with that if you so choose.

I switched to the Rifle Boulevard and love it. But will still get some wind noise with half helmet. No buffeting whatsoever with a full face though.

Maybe my searching skills are weak, but I did do some searches over the weekend but couldn't really find what I was looking for...

I'm 5'6" and use the boulevard, and like it. It will keep the wind off your chest, and as to the wind buffeting on your head, I put 3 washers between the windshield and the back bracket on just the top mounting bolts. It's about 3/8s of an inch spacing, and it seemed to reduce the head buffeting that I was getting. I also have a 25 to 30 mile commute one way to work on the hyway, and its seems to help quite a bit to me.
